She was swinging her teddy bear around and whirling as if dancing as she stood at the steps of the cathedral's ruins. Her hair was littered with dirt and leaves, her dress and knees muddy. There is an unusual look of rapt elation on her face. In a high childlike voice she is singing a crudely thrown together children's lullaby. The song is a smattering of several melodies thrown together.
" Hush little baby the cradle will fall...I'm gonna buy you a mockingbird."

Fallon had watched Maya's approach from a window, a scowl upon her face. She knew Maya didn't believe everything she told her Cult, but she stayed, an untrusting whelp of a girl. Turning from the window Fallon made her way across the room, sending her few underlings scurrying out of her way.
Walking through the chapel she caught a few strains of Maya's song as she danced upon the front stairs. Her nose scrunched a bit as she caught the odor and muck upon the girl. "Maya," she called out, "Where have you been?"

"To the forest, there's a lake, and a castle there, and sssshhh..Don't talk so loud you'll wake the baby..I love babies."
She's all smiles, looking around as if lost in her own world, as she goes back to humming, hugging the teddy bear to her chest, and resting her chin upon it. She'd been gone for three days, having not returned when the rest of the hunting party had come back that night. It's hard to tell what she's been up to in the woods by herself.

Fallon studied Maya intently for a few moments, her mind going over the possibilities. She had been sent with the hunting party to find bodies for them to feed upon after the fight between the Skulls and the Crossroads Settlement, but hadn't returned with the rest of them. It wasn't so much that Fallon had worried for her saftey, but what if she had been caught, who knows what sort of information she might have given up...not much probably. But it seemed that she had seen more of the settlement then the others had...though she was hardly ever coherent, maybe Fallon could coax more of what the girl knew from her.
"A castle? That sounds fun...tell me Maya, where is the castle?" she asked in a quiter voice, no need to upset the girl just yet.

"In the woods, if you follow the lake and climb the big hill. The baby is in the village near the castle. I bet it's so pretty, I heard it, I did. The indian lives in the house with the baby..I didn't see any cowboys.."
To most Maya's patter would seem like aimless rambling, but there was always a story to be told, but one had to see through her childlike metaphors to grasp what she was trying to say. One thing was obvious something she had encountered had made her very happy.

"The Indian has a baby..." Fallon mused. She had heard the Settlement was rulled over by a Native American, maybe this was his child...a bargining chip maybe?
"Maya, there is some soup brewing over the fire...why don't you go get a bowl, you must be hungry after all your exploring," Fallon said after a few moments. She needed to think, and couldn't do so with the girl around. A walk through the cemetary might help though.

She smiled hugging the teddy bear close again as she turned and took the path toward the school, which held the hearth. She was babbling contentedly to herself, talking as she walked, soon disappearing into the weeds and brush that had taken over the churchyard.
