Background:
Eugenia Dupree was born in Mobile, Alabama as she explains it, a long long time ago, cause a lady never does tell her age. She grew up during the depression era, and married young almost right out of high school like most women did in that time. When her husband joined the army as a pilot, she naturally moved from base to base with him, which eventually brought them to the midwest.
After her husband left the army when the second world war was over, he took a jobs in a facorty making steam shovels and they moved around a couple of times more, eventually settling down in a small midwestern town to start a small family, having a son and two daughters.
She and her husband lost their son in the Vietnam war, not ten years before her husband retired, and they travelled a lot, still doting on their daughters and their eight grandchildren. It was the early nineties when her husband passed on from a heart attack, and she has lived on her own, taking care of herself ever since.
Being a child of the depression the hardships of the war, and the aftermath haven't done much to phase her. A packrat by nature she was probably more well prepared to ride it out than most. To many of the rebels she is now the neighborhood adopted grandma, something she enjoys, well, mostly.
