He struggled as he found himself facing the dirt, this just wasn't how it was supposed to go. This was about the time where he should have been calling for help.
When Wolf spoke, it confused Luke for a moment, why was Wolf lurking about in the shadows? He struggled a bit more before finally layinig still. It was no use to fight anyway, he was pinned.

"Just stay still a moment, catch your breath." He said releasing his arm completely and climbing off of him. He sat down, back against a nearby tree. He'd fought back instead of raising the alarm, brave, but not what he would have had him do. "Just remember...raise the alarm first, then fight If you don't, the rest of us still don't have any idea what's coming."

Luke rolled over and stat up turning to Wolf. He listened and nodded at the advice given before apoglizing and promising to do just that next time. Thankfully the "assaliant" had been Wolf instead of someone from a rival gang.

"Come on, let's head back to the house and get you cleaned up.." He said, standing and holding his hand out to him. He'd have to come back and look for the pistol in the morning. It was much too dark to look for it now. He'd leave word with the guard before going to bed to keep children clear of the area until it was found.

Luke nodded and accepted the offered hand. Standing up he dusted himself off a bit. At least he could ask Wolf about his plans for the Skull Clan now, and it was probably better to ask here instead of around Sarah. She had too much to worry about as it was.
Placing a hand on Wolf's shoulder to pause him, he signed slowly so the man could read it, spelling out words in places where he knew Wolf might have trouble understanding him. Will the Settlement retaliate against the Skulls?

"In time.." He answered. The other night had only been a taste of what he knew awaited them if they moved on the compound. The settlement forces were good men, but most were simply not soldiers, he'd be leading them to the slaughter. He wasn't willing to do that. To move on the compound would be to face the brunt of skull forces head on, certain suicide but for all of a handful of his men.
"Don't think it's because I don't care," He said, looking rather sad. Sarah had told him of Luke's sister, indeed other families in the settlement had lost wives and daughters to them.

Luke set his chin in a hard line and nodded. He couldn't say anything because he knew Wolf was a good man, he would tell the truth no matter what. Besides, Luke didn't even know if Leslie wanted to be freed from the Skulls control or not. That thought didn't set well with him however, he'd heard countless stories of their cruelity to women.
He looked away from Wolf, afriad the man would see what thoughts had been going through his mind. He didn't want anyone to know that he himself was planning on moving against the Skull Clan with or without the Settlements help.

He got that same distant look in his eyes Sarah had worn not long before as he began walking back toward the house. That night had been close..too close. He very well could have lost everything in the world he cared about in an instant. He wasn't fool enough to believe that it was overeither..they'd be back, one day or another.
He stopped, appearing to steady himself against a tree, just as the well lit house came into view. His eyes were closed, his breathing fast, almost as if he were catching his breath and praying.
Hell yes he was frightened...Even if they had spared Sarah, Heaven would have almost surely been killed as soon as Sarah had given birth to her. He didn't understand their breed of hatred and prejudice..but that didn't mean his family was immune from the consequences. He'd already buried one child, it would kill him if he had to bury another.

Luke walked over to Wolf, placing a hand on his shoulder in comfort. It wasn't much, but it was all he could offer the man. He gave his shoulder a light squeeze before looking back towards the house he had just recently left. It seemed odd to be going back there so soon, and heaven only knew what Sarah would think of seeing him so dirty so soon after his visit.

He opened his eyes feeling the squeeze, and patted his back firmly.. "Come on..let's get moving." He'll be fine again before he reaches the porch. They kept a lot of clothes stored in the cellar of various sizes, something was bound to fit him. He knew Sarah wouldn't mind at all if Luke had a bath there.
He climbed onto the porch, his steel toed boots making a bit more noise than on the soft grass. He was pleased to find she'd locked the door after Luke had departed, turning his key in the lock. A music box was playing softly in the living room, Heaven was sound sleep in the cradle, which had been rolled over next to the couch, where Sarah lay dozing as well. Sleep while the baby sleeps...

Luke followed him up the stairs, his running shoes a bit quieter then Wolf's. He smiled when he saw mother and daughter asleep in the living room, it was a peaceful sight, an illusion in the midst of all the turmoil surrounding the town and the country.
He couldn't help but think that if everything hadn't happened he might still have his voice. He didn't allow those thoughts to creep in most of the time however, they tried to turn him bitter, he couldn't let that happen and still live peacefully.

He lead Luke down into the cellar, into one of the small side rooms off the main area, where shelf upon shelf of clothing was kept. He left him to choose a suitable outfit, returning upstairs, and going into the kitchen. He washed his hands before making himself a peanut butter sandwhich, having been so busy, he hadn't had a chance to catch dinner at the town hall with the rest.

Luke frowned a bit looking around the small room. It was chock full of clothes, he took his time looking, though he didn't have to search very far. Pulling out a t-shirt and another pair of jeans that fit him, he turned around looking for Wolf, but the man had alredy left. Luke shook his head a bit with a soft huff of air for a laugh and closed the door behind him.
Returning upstairs he followed the soft sounds of someone moving around to the kitchen where he found Wolf. Giving a bit of a wave he showed him that he had found some clothing.

"The bathroom is upstairs if you'd like to wash up a bit," he said, putting the bread back into the breadbox. A small plate of sandwiches sat on the table, along with a pitcher of water. it wasn't much but he'd eaten far worse for dinner before.

Luke thanked Wolf before turning back to the stairs. He was up and out of site quickly. He probably wouldn't take a bath or anything like that, but it would be nice to wash the dirt off his face and arms.
