Luke tread carefully across the ground, his eyes actually hardly leaving the trail, the plate of chicken and potatoes was balanced carefully in his hands. The paths through this part of the settlement were periolus to say the least. If he were to fall, there would be no way for anyone to know where he had gone.
Glancing up finally he smiled noticing he had reached the McBride Residence. Making his way up the stairs and onto the porch, he gave a few knocks wondering if anyone but Sarah and the baby were home.

Wolf's old wooden rocking chair was conspicuously missing from the porch, having been pulled inside into the living room. Sarah sat in it, her feet propped up on the ottoman, pillow across her lap, shawl thrown over her shoulder, feeding time for the little one.
"Come in.." She called from her seat, she wasn't exactly in a position to get up.
The baby drank almost sleepily, she readjusted the shawl, not wanting to embarras whoever was at the door. It puzzled her why some people were still so embarassed by breastfeeding.

Luke let himself in quietly, being sure that the door was closed behind him. He placed the plate on the table before walking around to wave at Sarah. He didn't want her to get worried when no one spoke.
When he saw the baby a smile broke across his face, there was nothing like hope in the midst of crisis to help cheer everyone. Flashing a few signs he asked how she was feeling, and how the baby was doing before telling her that he had brought dinner since Wolf was busy with something.

"She's doing well..she has her father's appetite." She laughed softly as she continued rocking gently in the chair. "Would you like to see her?" She would leave it up to him what his level of comfort was with that.

Luke immediately signed yes. He would love to see the baby. He felt a little awkard standing while Sarah was sitting with the baby, so he knelt down, balancing on the balls of his feet. There wasn't much that fazed him anymore, least of all someone breast feeding, he'd seen too much in his life-time to worry about it.

She moved the shawl back a little, letting it rest against her arm. The baby fussed a little, but didn't stop drinking, opening her eyes. She had a headful of jet black hair, and very closely resembled her father.
"Her name is Heaven." She said smiling. She stopped rocking long enough for him to have a good look at her.

He smiled, signing how beautiful the baby was, and how well her name fit her. He remembered his manners a bit, asking if Sarah needed anything he could get her.

Just a drink from the kitchen and one of the tv trays would be fine, thank you. She could use her free hand to feed herself and not interrupt the baby that way. She tucked the shawl back over her, not wanting to take the chance that something would fall on her as she was eating.

Luke was up and moving even as she finished speaking, setting up the tv tray she had asked for, placing her dinner beside her with a fork. Then he went to the kitchen and pulled down a glass, filling it with the crystal clear liquid and returning to her and the baby.
Finally he sat down, wanting to wait until she had finished eating so he could clean everything up for her. Maybe he would wait until Wolf came home, but since he didn't know when that would be, and didn't want to risk falling in the dark, he probably wouldn't.

"Thank you Luke," She said, as he came back into the room. By then she has situated the plate about where she needed it, and was carefully eating small bites at a time. She'd gotten used to doing things one handed years ago when her older children had been born. She still missed them, but having Heaven now did make not dwelling on it all a little easier.

He indicated that it was no problem at all. After settling down in the chair he allowed himself to glance around the room, he wasn't used to seeing an actual home in the Settlement, having lived in the barracks ever since he came to stay there.
He wanted to ask her a mulittude of questions, but knew he shouldn't and couldn't. Instead he tried to rest his hands in his lap. It wasn't really working though, as they fluttered nervously about.

Is there something you want to talk about sweetie?" She asked, noticing his fidgiting. She knew how Luke got that ants in the pants look when there was something he wanted to say and was either afraid or unable to think of the words to ask. She hoped he would "speak up."

He seemed almost startled when she asked her question. He glanced over to her and the baby, a soft frown of concentration crossing his features. Now that he thought about it, Sarah probably couldn't answer his questions. The one he should be asking was Wolf, but he was indisposed of at the moment.
Looking back up a Sarah he slowly asked if she knew if there would be a retaliation on the Skulls. He was really just worried about his sister though, and couldn't help but blame himself for her capture. He'd heard stories about what the Skulls did to women and their captives, it wasn't pleasant.

"I really don't know hun, I don't really ask Wolf a lot of the plans, and he doesn't often speak of them." She replied, "I suppose he assumes I would worry too much, and he doesn't want to concern me, but I do believe that if you asked him, that he would give you an honest answer."
Her voice is quiet, her eyes going a bit distant for a moment, yes worry was a consistent part of her existence. The skulls had brought things far too close to home the other night. The shattered mirror above the mantel and the bullet holes in the wall that had yet to be repaired could attest to that fact.

He knew he shouldn't have asked, she was worried now, well, more so then usual. After telling her how sorry he was that he had made her worry, he turned his head some, looking down at the floor or over at one of the other walls.
